CIHR releases Catalyst Grant for research projects utilizing CLSA data

We are pleased to announce that the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has released the Catalyst Grant that will fund over $900,000 for applications using data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA).

CIHR annual awards support translation of research into better care for older adults

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-Institute for Aging has implemented the Betty Havens Prize for Knowledge Translation in Aging which aims to recognize the outstanding achievements and excellence in knowledge translation in aging at a local or regional level, and to provide financial support to further foster excellence and innovation in knowledge translation activities.

CLSA links with CANUE to release data on environmental health; CIHR announces funding opportunity

The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) and the Canadian Urban Environmental Health Research Consortium (CANUE) have collaborated to link data on air quality, neighbourhood factors, weather and climate, and greenness indicators to CLSA data on health and aging, to enable research on how environmental factors affect the ways in which Canadians age.

Dr. Parminder Raina, Lead Principal Investigator of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) and Scientific Director of McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA), has been renewed in his position as Canada Research Chair in Geroscience (Tier 1) at McMaster University.
